The wall of normal

Following the ways of most people will always lead to the results of most people. Common actions and common decisions cannot lead to uncommon results. This sounds simple and even obvious, yet so many people think they can accomplish more than everyone else, even though they do the same things. The old saying goes, “Insanity is defined by repeating the same actions and expecting different results.” If you have ever felt like you were beating your head against a wall (I have many times) then, like me, you probably were. The wall we keep pounding is the wall of normal, status quo. It is made up of traditions, ideas, methodologies, and mindsets that have been around for decades.

Imagine how much difference a change to “normal” could make. Imagine what would happen if we looked at it (whatever it is) from a different angle. Think about the uncommon results with a new uncommon approach.

The path we are on today will accurately predict where we end up tomorrow. Maybe, it’s time to change the path.

What if we all made a few changes to the way we approached things and set aside the status quo?
